The

Method
Operators tell you what movement you need.
Protocols show you how to do it.
A protocol is a simple, structured sequence that guides you through an emotional process from activation → movement → completion.
Each protocol is built around one operator and gives you a clear, repeatable way to shift your state.
Protocols are the practical core of the CEF Method — the part you can use in real time, in real situations, with real emotional activation.
Every protocol follows the same structure:
1. Entry Condition
A short description of the emotional state that tells you when this protocol is the right one.
2. Operator
The emotional movement you’ll be using (e.g., Constricting, Arranging, Boosting).
3. Steps
A simple, guided sequence that moves your activation in the right direction.
4. Completion Signal
A clear indicator that the emotional process has finished or stabilized.
This structure keeps the method consistent, teachable, and easy to use.
Below is the full list of protocols, organized by operator.
Each one includes a one‑sentence summary so you can choose quickly.
Sensing Protocol
Reconnect with external signals when you’re numb, disconnected, or unable to perceive clearly.
Calculating Protocol
Bring scattered or repetitive thoughts into structure and grounded evaluation.
Deciding Protocol
Integrate competing perspectives when you’re torn between options.
Expanding Protocol
Reopen emotional space by moving outward when you’ve tightened or closed off.
Constricting Protocol
Reduce emotional overwhelm by narrowing the aperture and restoring clarity.
Achieving Protocol
Coordinate competing emotional demands when you’re overburdened or stretched thin.
Arranging Protocol
Create structure and order when you’re scattered, chaotic, or disorganized.
Appreciating Protocol
Reconnect with presence and value when you’re not enjoying or not feeling anything.
Boosting Protocol
Restore energy, continuity, and momentum when you’re drained or depleted.
Accepting Protocol
Release resistance and settle the system when collapse or shutdown is present.
Use the protocol that matches:
If you already know your operator, simply select the matching protocol.
If not, return to Shift to identify your center and mode.

Practitioner Use Requirements
If you are a practitioner and intend to use the Core Emotion Framework (CEF) in your official professional work, the following conditions apply:
You must already be formally trained and certified in CBT, DBT, ACT, and possess appropriate trauma‑management training before applying the CEF with any client.
No special certification is required to use the CEF itself, as long as you meet the above professional prerequisites.
It is recommended to keep the official CEF visual banner displayed in your office, to maintain conceptual clarity and support client orientation.
